PURSUANT to the powers conferred upon it by the Building and Services	Ordinance 1924-1925, the Federal Capital Commission, appointed
under the Seat of Government (Administration)	Act 1924-1925, hereby makes

the following Eegulations, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of Building Regulations.

1. Regulation 4 of the Canberra Building Regulations is amended by inserting in the definition of " Builder ", after the word " licence ", the words " or a builders' special licence " .

* 2. Regulation 7 of the Canberra Building Regulation is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (1.), after the words " in accordance with Form E ", the words " and Builders' Special Licences in accordance with Form E E . " ;

(o) by inserting, after sub-regulation (1A.), the following sub-regula-

tion :—

" (1B.) An application for the issue of a Builder's Special Licence shall be in accordance with Form DD and shall be accompanied (if required by the Commission) by a certificate in accordance with Form B . " ; and

(c) by adding a t the end thereof the following sub-regulation : —

" (3.) A Builder's Special Licence shall authorize the holder to undertake or execute any work as a building con- tractor in connexion with the erection of any building or other structure specified in the licence or to carry on the business of a building contractor for such period and in respect of such work as are mentioned in the licence.".

3. Regulation 8 of the Canberra Building Regulations is amended by

adding a t the end thereof the following sub-regulation :•—

" (2.) The fee to be paid in connexion with a Builder's Special Licence shall be Ten shillings and sixpence.".

4.  Regulation 10 of the Canberra Building Regulations is amended— (a) by inserting, after the words " Builder's Licence ", the words

" or a Builder's Special Licence." ; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof the following proviso :—

" Provided that the holder of a Builder's Special Licence shall not undertake or execute any work as a building con- tractor unless authorized so to do by his licence.".

5. The Schedule to the Canberra Building Regulations is amended—

,	(a) by inserting, after Form D, the following form :—

I enclose certificate in accordance with Form B in the Schedule to the above-mentioned Regulations.

I enclose the sum of Ten shillings and sixpence (10s. 6d.), being the Amount due

prescribed fee for the issue of a Builder's Special Licence.

I undertake that, in the event of a licence being issued to me, I will faithfully comply with the conditions of the licence and observe the provi- sions of the Canberra Building Regulations and any regulations amending or in substitution for those Regulations and all other laws from time to time in force governing the design, erection or execution of buildings and works in the Territory for the Seat of Government.
