OTHER GRANTS GUIDELINES

Amendment of Guidelines pursuant to section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003

I, Julie Bishop, Minister for Education, Science and Training, pursuant to section 238-10

of the Higher Education Act 2003, make the attached amendments to the Other Grants

   Guidelines for the purposes of Part 2-3 of the Act.

Amendments to Other Grants Guidelines

GUIDELINES FOR OTHER GRANTS

Amendment Number 6

(i)      CITATION

These guidelines may be cited as Amendment Number 6 to the Other Grants Guidelines.

(ii)     AUTHORITY

These guidelines are made under section 238-10 of the Higher Education Support Act 2003.

(iii)    DATE OF EFFECT

These guidelines shall come into effect on the day after registration on the Federal Register of  

Legislative Instruments. 

PURPOSE

·The purpose of these guidelines is to amend the Other Grants Guidelines made on

12 August 2004.

·The Other Grants Guidelines are amended as follows:

CHAPTER 11 GRANTS FOR ACTIVITIES THAT:

(a)        assure and enhance the quality of Australia’s higher education sector

ITEM 1

In paragraph 11.1:

To the list of bodies corporate in sub-paragraph 11.1.1, immediately after:

“The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)”

add:

“The Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee (AVCC)”.

ITEM 2

In sub-paragraph 11.1.5:

Replace the sentence in sub-section 11.1.5 with the following sentence:

“The Minister will determine the conditions of grants to AUQA, GCCA, ACER

and AVCC by Ministerial determination under s41-25(b)(i) of the Act.”

ITEM 3

In sub-paragraph 11.1.10:

Immediately after the item:

“11.1.10.15      The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)”

insert the following item:

“11.1.10.20      The Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee (AVCC)”.
