REGULATIONS UNDER THE ALIENS ACT 1947-1952.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Aliens Act 1947-1952.

Amendments of the Aliens Regulations. 

Time for making application for registration.

1. Regulation 5 of the Aliens Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the word “sub-section” (first occurring) and inserting in its stead the word “sub-regulation”.

Notification of change of address or occupation.

2. Regulation 9 of the Aliens Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (4.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(4.) A notification by an alien, being a notification referred to in the preceding provisions of this regulation, shall be in writing in accordance with so much of Form 5 as is applicable in the circumstances of the case and shall be forwarded—

(a) where the place of residence of the alien is in a State or the Northern Territory—to the Commonwealth Migration Officer in the State or the Northern Territory, as the case may be; or

(b) where the place of residence of the alien is in the Australian Capital Territory—to the Secretary to the Department of Immigration.”.
