Aliens Acts Amendment Act. the Legislative Assembly is not then sitting for the transaction of business, within fourteen days after it next commences to sit. B E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as “ The Aliens Acts short Amendment Act of 1958.” (2.) *“ The Aliens Acts, 1867 to 1952,” as amended Principal by section two of f“ The Statutes Amendment Act ofAot' 1956,” are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be Collective collectively cited as “The Aliens Acts, 1867 to 1958.” tltle‘ J(4.) Section three of the Principal Act is amended etastkaetereoarl any by adding the following paragraph to sub-section two estate or of that section:— interest therein. “ (h) Notwithstanding any provision of this Act or any other Act or law any and every alien shall and may as from the passing of *“ The Aliens Acts Amendment Act of 1958 ” take, acquire, hold, and dispose of any real property or any estate or interest in real property in all respects as if he were a British subject under and within the meaning of the f NationalityandCitizenshipAct1948-1955, of the Commonwealth (or of any Act passed in amendment thereof or substitution therefor); and a title to real property or any estate or interest therein may be derived through, from, or in succession to an alien, in the same manner in all respects as through, from, or in succession to a natural-bom British subject as aforesaid: Provided that this paragraph of this subsection shall not entitle an alien to any right or privilege as a British subject as aforesaid, except such rights and privileges in respect of property as are by this paragraph expressly given to him.” * This Act. f No. 83 of 1948 and amending Acts of the Commonwealth.
