HEREAS it is ex yedien t to further amend " The Aliens Act, Preamble.

1864 "-Be

it therefore Enacted by the Governor of the

Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

The Aliens Act, 1864," any person applying for naturalization may be taken.

1, Notwithstanding the directions contuined in section 10 of oath of alle&nce

may take and subscribe the oath of allegiance before any Justice of the Peace or other person mentioned in the said Act, not being the Justice of the Peace signing the certificate to the effect that the applicant is known to him, and such oath may be indorsed upon the memorial: Provided that no alien shall be allowed to apply for naturalization until he has resided within the Yrovince of South Australia, for a term of six months.

2. This Act, except so far as inconsistent therewith, shall be Inc~rpo~t ipn.
