AIRLINES EQUIPMENT ACT 1 974

An Act to amend the Airlines Equipment Act 1958-1973.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, the Senate and the House of

Representatives of Australia, as follows:—

(1)

This Act may be cited as the Airlines Equipment Act 1974.1

Short tide

and citation.

(2) The Airlines Equipment Act 1958-19732 is in this Act referred to

as the Principal Act.

(3) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the

Airlines Equipment Act 1958-1974.

2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives Commence-

Section 11 of the Principal Act is amended—

Definitions.

(a)

by omitting from the definition of “ aircraft capacity’’ the word “ ton-miles” and substituting the word “ tonne-kilometres” ;

(b)

by omitting from the definition of “ revenue load factor” the words “ ton-miles” and “ ton-mile” (wherever occurring) and substituting the words “ tonne-kilometres” and “ tonne- kilometre”, respectively;

(c)

by omitting from the definition of “ revenue load factor” the words “ two hundred pounds” and substituting the words “ 90 kilograms”; and

(d)

by omitting the definition of “ ton” .

4. Section 13 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting from Conditional

paragraph (a) the word “ ton-miles” and substituting the word “ tonne- obligations
