An Act to amend the Aircraft Noise Levy Collection Act 1995, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Aircraft Noise Levy Collection Amendment Act 2001.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendment of the Aircraft Noise Levy Collection Act 1995

At the end of section 7

Add:

1. (7)

   The Minister is taken:

   1. (a)

      to have declared under subsection (1) that Sydney (Kingsford‑Smith) Airport is a leviable airport for the period from and including 1 July 1996 to and including 21 February 2001; and

   2. (b)

      to have made that declaration by notice published in the Gazette before 1 July 1996.

2. (8)

   Subsection (4) does not apply to the making of the declaration mentioned in subsection (7).
