1Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Air Passenger Ticket Levy (Collection) Amendment Regulations 2002 (No. 1).

2Commencement

These Regulations commence, or are taken to have commenced, as follows:

  1. (a)

    on gazettal — regulations 1 to 3, and Schedule 1;

  2. (b)

    on 1 October 2001 — Schedule 2.

3Amendment of Air Passenger Ticket Levy (Collection) Regulations 2001

Schedules 1 and 2 amend the Air Passenger Ticket Levy (Collection) Regulations 2001.

    For paragraph 9 (2) (b) of the Act, levy is not payable on an air passenger ticket if:

    1. (a)

      the ticket is an electronic ticket entitling a person to travel as a passenger on a relevant flight; and

    2. (b)

      the ticket was purchased by, or for, the person before the person travelled to Australia.
