REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1956.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Force Act 1923-1956.

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations 

Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of the Air Staff and Air Vice-Marshal— rates of pay.

1.—(1.) Regulation 544 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words "Four thousand eight hundred and eight pounds" and inserting in their stead the words "Five thousand one hundred and fifty-three pounds".

(2.) The rate of pay specified in sub-regulation (3.) of regulation 544 of the Air Force Regulations as amended by the last preceding sub-regulation applies in relation to service in the rank of air vice-marshal on and after the twenty-third day of December, 1963.

Rates of travelling allowance.

2.—(1.) Regulation 578 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (1.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

(2.) Regulation 578 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.).

(3.) The rates of travelling allowance specified in sub-regulation (1.) of regulation 578 of the Air Force Regulations, as amended by sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, apply to travelling allowance paid or payable, in accordance with that first-mentioned sub-regulation, to a member other than an officer of the rank of Air Marshal or Air Vice-Marshal in respect of any period on or after the twenty-fifth day of June, 1963.

Reduction of rate when subsistence or quarters provided.

3. Regulation 590 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (8.) the words and figures—

and inserting in their stead the words and figures—

4. Regulation 594 of the Air Force Regulations is repealed and the following regulation inserted in its stead:—

Members travelling in parties.

"594. Where members travel as a party and rations and quarters or rations or quarters are provided for the members, travelling allowance is payable in respect of the travel at such rate as the Air Board determines.".

Meal allowance.

5. Regulation 598 of the Air Force Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from paragraph (a) the words "Five shillings and sixpence" and inserting in their stead the words "Seven shillings and sixpence"; and

(b)by omitting from paragraph (b)the words "Nine shillings" and inserting in their stead the words "Ten shillings".

Special evening meal allowance.

6. Regulation 598ab of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting the words "Nine shillings" and inserting in their stead the words "Ten shillings".

Application.

7. The respective rates of meal allowance and special evening meal allowance specified in regulations 598 and 598ab of the Air Force Regulations, as amended by these Regulations, apply to meal allowance and special evening meal allowance paid or payable in respect of the twenty-fifth day of June, 1963, or any subsequent day.
