STATUTORY RULES
REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1964.*

Regulations under the

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations
(2.) The amendment of regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations by the last preceding sub-regulation has effect in relation to service in the rank of flight lieutenant on and after the twenty-fifth day of June, 1964.
(2.) The rates of travelling allowance specified in the table in sub-regulation (1.) of regulation 578 of the Air Force Regulations, as amended by the 1st preceding sub-regulation, in relation to officers of the rank of wing commander, chaplain second class, wing officer, flight lieutenant, chaplain fourth class or flight officer apply to travelling allowance paid or payable in accordance with that first-mentioned Sub-regulation to an officer of such a rank in respect of the twenty-fifth day of June 1964 or any subsequent day.
(2.) The rates of travelling allowance specified in the table in sub-regulation (8.) of regulation 590 of the Air Force Regulation, as amended by the last preceding sub-regulation, in relation to officers of the rank of wing commander, chaplain second class, wing officer, flight lieutenant,

chaplain fourth class or flight officer apply to travelling allowance paid or payable in accordance with that first-mentioned sub-regulation to an officer of such a rank in respect of the twenty-fifth day of June, 1964, or any subsequent day.
(2.) Regulation 634 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (3.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—
“(3.) The amount of education allowance payable to a married member in respect of the attendance of his child at a school is—
(
a ) for each complete school year or for a part of a school year for which the child attends the school as a boarder—such amount, not exceeding Four hundred and thirty pounds, as the Air Board considers reasonable having regard to the expenses incurred by the member in respect of or incidental to the attendance of the child at the school during the period and the other circumstances of the particular case;(
b ) for each complete school term that the child attends the school otherwise than as a boarder—an amount of Seventy-three pounds six shilling and eight pence; or(
c ) for a period less than a complete school term that the child attends the school otherwise than as a boarder—such amount not exceeding Seventy-three pounds six shillings and eight pence, as the Air Board considers reasonable having regard to the circumstances of the particular case.”.
(3.) Regulation 634 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—
“(6.) Where—
(
a ) education allowance is payable under this regulation in respect of the attendance of a child at a school; and(
b ) the child attains the age of eighteen years after the commencement of a school year and before the end of that school year,
the child shall for the purposes of this regulation, be deemed to be under the age of eighteen years during the whole of that school year.”.
(4.) Education allowance is payable in accordance with the provisions of regulation 634 of the Air Force Regulations as amended by the last three preceding sub-regulation in respect of the attendance of a child at a school on and after the third day of September, 1964.
