(3.) Regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations is further amended by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words " Ten dollars and fifty-four cents " and inserting in their stead the words " Ten dollars and seventy-six cents ".
(4.) Regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations is further amended by omitting sub-regulations (7.), (8.), (9.) and (10.) and inserting in their stead the following sub-regulations:—
" (7.) The daily rate of active pay of an officer of the medical branch of the Permanent Air Force who is a qualified medical or dental practitioner and holds a rank specified in the following table is the rate specified, in relation to his rank and service, in that table:—

(

" 598.—(1.) Subject to the next succeeding sub-regulation, meal allowance is payable to a member who incurs expense in the purchase of a meal in such circumstances as the Air Board determines.
" (2.) Meal allowance—
(
a ) is payable subject to such conditions and at such rate or rates as the Air Board determines; and(
b ) is not payable in respect of a meal purchased by a member during a period in respect of which travelling allowance is payable to the member.".
(2.) Where an allowance under regulation 598, 598a, 598aa or 598ab of the Air Force Regulations was paid or is payable to a member in respect of a meal purchased during the period from and including the fourteenth day of February, 1966, to and including the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, the member is, by virtue of this sub-regulation, entitled to be paid additional meal allowance in respect of that meal of an amount equal to the amount by which the meal allowance paid or payable to him in respect of that meal is less than the meal allowance that would have been or would be payable to him in respect of that meal if sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation and the first determination made by the Air Board for the purpose of the regulation inserted in the Air Force Regulations by that sub-regulation had come into force on the fourteenth day of February, 1966.
(2.) Where, but for this sub-regulation, a male member would, by virtue of the application of the amendments of regulation 555 or regulation 555a of the Air Force Regulations as from the twenty-first day of July, 1966, in accordance with sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, cease to be entitled to marriage allowance or become entitled to marriage allowance at a reduced rate, the member shall not cease to be so entitled to marriage allowance or the rate of marriage allowance shall not be so reduced, as the case may be, until the date of commencement of these Regulations.
(3.) Where an allotment made by a male member was in force in respect of the period from and including the twenty-first day of July, 1966, to and including the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations, or in respect of a part of that period, at a rate that entitled him to marriage allowance at the rate of Ninety-five cents per day but would not entitle him to marriage allowance at the rate of One dollar and two cents per day under the Air Force Regulations as amended by these Regulations, the member may increase his allotment in respect of the period or the part of the period, as the case may be, and, if he does so, marriage allowance is payable to him in accordance with Air Force Regulations as so amended as if his increased allotment had been in force during the period or the part of the period.
