STATUTORY RULES

REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1965.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Force Act 1923-1965.

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations 

Active pay of officers.

1.—(1.) Regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words " Eleven dollars four cents " and inserting in their stead the words " Eleven dollars fifteen cents ".

(2.) Regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (7.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

Consolidated rates of pay.

2. Regulation 544 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the words " Ten thousand six hundred and seventy-one dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " Eleven thousand six hundred and fifty-seven dollars ".

Allowance for an air commodore who is a medical or dental practitioner.

3. Regulation 556c of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting the words " Four hundred and eighty-eight dollars " and inserting in their stead the words " Six hundred and seven dollars ".

Application.

4.—(1.) The rates of pay provided for in the Air Force Regulations as amended by regulations 1 and 2 of these Regulations apply in respect of service in the Permanent Air Force, the Air Force Emergency Force or the Citizen Air Force, as the case requires, on and after the sixth day of July, 1967.

(2.) The rate of allowance provided for in regulation 556c of the Air Force Regulations as amended by regulation 3 of these Regulations applies in respect of service of an air commodore who is an officer of the medical branch of the Permanent Air Force on and after the twenty-second day of December, 1966.

Additional pay for medical officer who is an air commodore.

5. A member of the medical branch of the Permanent Air Force who, during the period or a part of the period from and including the twenty-second day of December, 1966, to and including the fifth day of July, 1967, held the rank of air commodore is, by virtue of this sub-regulation, entitled to additional pay in respect of that period or part of that period at the rate of Nine hundred and thirty-four dollars per year.

Additional pay for male medical officers or dental officers of the Permanent Air Force and the Citizen Air Force.

6. A male member of the medical branch of the Permanent Air Force or of the Citizen Air Force who, during a period or a part of a period specified in the second column of the following table in relation to a rank or a rank and service in that rank specified in the first column of that table, held that rank or held that rank and had that service in that rank is, by virtue of this regulation, entitled to additional pay in respect of that period or the part of that period of an amount equal to the amount by which the pay paid or payable to him in respect of that period or the part of that period under regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations is less than the amount of pay that would have been payable to him if he had been entitled to be paid at the rate of pay specified in the third column of that table opposite to that period in the second column instead of at the appropriate rate of pay specified in the table in sub-regulation (7.) of regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations.

Additional pay for female medical officers or dental officers of the Permanent Air Force and the Citizen Air Force.

7. A female member of the medical branch or dental branch of the Permanent Air Force or of the Citizen Air Force who, during a period or a part of a period specified in the second column of the following table in relation to a rank or a rank and service in that rank specified in the first column of that table, held that rank or held that rank and had that service in that rank is, by virtue of this regulation, entitled to additional pay in respect of that period or the part of that period of an amount equal to the amount by which the pay paid or payable to her in respect of that period or the part of that period under regulation 543 of the Air Force Regulations is less than the amount of pay that would have been payable to her if she had been entitled to be paid at the rate of pay specified in the third column of that table opposite to that period in the second column instead of at the appropriate rate of pay specified in the table in sub-regulation (10.) of the Air Force Regulations.
