STATUTORY RULES
REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1965.*

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations
“(2.) For the purpose of this Part, an officer shall be taken to be in receipt of active pay at a consolidated rate—
(
a ) if the officer holds an appointment specified in sub-section (1.) of section 9a of theDefence Act 1903-1970; or(
b ) if the officer is eligible to be paid active pay as provided in regulation 544 of these Regulations.”.
“542c. Regulations 555, 556b, 556f, 556g, 556h, 556l, 566, 567, 567a, 568, 569, 570, 571a and 573 of these Regulations do not apply to or in relation to an officer who is in receipt of active pay at a consolidated rate.”.
“544.—(1.) The rate at which active pay is payable to an air vice-marshal of the Permanent Air Force is a consolidated rate of Fifteen thousand four hundred and sixty-nine dollars per year.
“(2.) Subject to the next succeeding sub-regulation, the rate at which active pay is payable to an air commodore of the Permanent Air Force is a consolidated rate of Thirteen thousand and thirty-eight dollars per year.
“(3.) The rate at which active pay is payable to an air commodore of the medical branch of the Permanent Air Force who is a qualified medical or dental practitioner is a consolidated rate of Fourteen thousand two hundred and fifty-three dollars per year.”.

a ) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words “the daily rate of allowance is the amount of the difference between the daily rate of pay payable to the member in respect of the rank that he holds and the daily rate of pay” and inserting in their stead the words “the amount of the allowance per day payable to the member is an amount equal to the difference between the amount of active pay per day payable to the member in respect of the rank that he holds and the amount of active pay per day”; and(
b ) by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—“(2.) For the purpose of the last preceding sub-regulation, the amount of higher duty allowance per day payable to a member is—
(
a ) if the rank in respect of which higher duty allowance is payable and the rank that the member holds are each a rank in respect of which active pay is payable at a consolidated rate—an amount per day equal to one three hundred and sixty-fifth part of the difference between the amounts of active pay payable per year in respect of those ranks;(
b ) if the rank in respect of which higher duty allowance is payable is a rank in respect of which active pay is payable at a consolidated rate and the rank that the member holds is the rank of group captain—an amount per day ascertained by subtracting from one three hundred and sixty-fifth part of the amount of active pay payable per year in respect of that first-mentioned rank an amount equal to the sum of the amounts of active pay, pay allowances, allowance in lieu of rations and quarters and uniform allowance payable per day to the member under these Regulations in respect of the rank that he holds; or(
c ) if the rank in respect of which higher duty allowance is payable is a rank below the rank of air commodore—an amount per day equal to the difference between the sum of the amounts of active pay (including good conduct increments) and pay allowances that would be payable per day to the member if he were promoted to the rank in respect of which higher duty allowance is payable and the sum of the amounts of active pay (including good conduct increments) and pay allowances that are payable per day to him in respect of the rank that he holds.”.
