REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1965.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Force Act 1923-1965.

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations 

Marriage of personnel undergoing flying training.

1. Regulation 74a of the Air Force Regulations is repealed.

Issue of uniform on first appointment or enlistment.

2. (1) Regulation 572 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3) the words “ Forty-two dollars ” and substituting the words “ Forty-seven dollars ”.

(2) The amendment made by sub-regulation (1) applies in respect of an outfit allowance paid or payable under sub-regulation 572 (3) of the Air Force Regulations to a person appointed or enlisted in the Permanent Air Force on and after 1st January, 1973.

3. (1) Regulation 645a of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (4) and substituting the following table:—

(2) The rates set out in the table in sub-regulation (4) of regulation 647 of the Air Force Regulations as amended by these Regulations apply in relation to attendances, as an instructor in the Air Training Corps, at training parades of that Corps on and after 1st July, 1971.

Allowances to witnesses at Courts-martial or Courts of Inquiry.

5. Regulations 664 and 665 of the Air Force Regulations are repealed and the following regulation is substituted:—

“ 664. (1) A person (other than a member of the Defence Force who is rendering service) who attends to give evidence before an Air Force tribunal is entitled to be paid, in respect of that attendance, such fees and travelling expenses as the Secretary to the Department of Air thinks fit to allow in accordance with the scale in the Second Schedule to the Public Works Committee Regulations as in force from time to time under the Public Works Committee Act 1969-1972.

“ (2) In sub-regulation (1), ‘ Air Force tribunal ’ means a court-martial or a court of inquiry or officer authorized under the Act to enquire into a matter, to investigate a charge, to dispose of a charge summarily or to take a summary of evidence.

“ (3) A reference in sub-regulation (2) to ‘ the Act ’ shall be read as including a reference to the Air Force Act, the Rules of Procedure made in pursuance of section 70 of the Air Force Act and the King’s Regulations and Air Council instructions for the Royal Air Force in their application in relation to the Air Force.”.

Fourth Schedule.

6.The Fourth Schedule to the Air Force Regulations is amended by inserting in the table headed “ (i) Modifications., after the words and figures—

“ XV. | I. | 1093 | Omit the whole paragraph.”,

the words and figures—

“ XV, | I. | 1094 | Omit the whole paragraph.”.
