STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923.*
I,THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the
Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations.
“54a. A commission in the commissioned warrant officer branch of the Permanent Air Force with the rank on appointment of flying officer may be granted on the recommendation of, and subject to conditions approved by, the Air Board to a warrant officer or a non-commissioned officer who has passed the examination for promotion to warrant officer.”.
(2.) An officer appointed to be quartermaster and granted a commission in the quartermaster branch under the regulation repealed by this regulation and holding office at the date of commencement of this regulation shall be deemed to have been granted a commission in the commissioned warrant officer branch as if this regulation had been in force when he was so appointed and he had been granted a commission hereunder.

“65a. Notwithstanding anything contained in these Regulations, a flying officer of the commissioned warrant officer branch may, after five years’ continuous service therein, be promoted to the rank of flight lieutenant without being required to pass an examination.”.
“(1.) The ages for compulsory retirement of officers shall be in accordance with the following table:—

“(3.) An officer of the commissioned warrant officer branch shall be paid consolidated pay and allowances in accordance with the following table: -

“642.—(1.) When in camp or in bivouac, or when travelling with personnel by road, an officer or sergeant-major, Class I, may be allowed camp or field allowance in accordance with the following table:—

(2.) A chaplain detailed for duty at a camp of training shall be granted, irrespective of his classification—
(
a ) a field allowance of Three shillings and sixpence per day, and rations for each day of his authorized attendance at that camp; and(
b )travelling allowance at the rate of One pound per day, whilst proceeding to and from camp, except when accompanying personnel who are rationed.”.
