Air Force Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Force Act 1923.

Interpretation

1. Regulation 4 of the Air Force Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from subregulation (1) the definitions of “living in”, “living out”, “married member” and “unmarried member”;

(b) by omitting subregulation (2);

(c) by omitting from subregulation (3) “‘category M member’, ‘category MS member’, ‘category O member’,”;

(d) by omitting from subregulation (3) “, ‘dependant’ and ‘home’” and substituting “and ‘dependant’”; and

(e) by omitting subregulations (5), (6), (10) and (11).

Repeal of Part X

2. Part X of the Air Force Regulations is repealed.

Commencement, calculation and cessation of pay

3. Regulation 530 of the Air Force Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting subregulations (1) to (5) inclusive; and

(b) by omitting paragraphs 6 (d), (e) and (f) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(d) the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986;”.

Repeals

4. Regulations 539, 541, 556d, 571c and Division 7 of Part XI of the Air Force Regulations are repealed.

Interpretation of Division 9 of Part XI

5. Regulation 616 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting “Repatriation Act 1920” from the definition of “Repatriation hospital” and substituting “Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986”.

Retirement or discharge on medical grounds

6. Regulation 628 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (4) “, the Repatriation (Far East Strategic Reserve)Act 1956 or the Repatriation (Special Overseas Service) Act 1962” and substituting “or the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986”.
