STATUTORY RULES.

REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1941.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Force Act 1923-1941.

Amendments of the Air Force Regulations. 

Commencement of Regulations.

1. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the fourth day of June, 1942.

Members of Air Board.

2. Regulation 25 of the Air Force Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1.) the words—

“The Air Member for Organization and Equipment,

The Air Member for Personnel,

The Director-General of Supply and Production,”

and inserting in their stead the words—

“The Air Member for Personnel,

The Air Member for Engineering and Maintenance,

The Air Member for Supply and Equipment,”;

(b)by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words “the Air Member for Organization and Equipment and the Air Member for Personnel” and inserting in their stead the words “the Air Member for Personnel and the Air Member for Engineering and Maintenance”; and

(c) by omitting sub-regulation (4.).

Distribution of Duties.

3. Regulation 30 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—

“(2.) In assigning duties to the members of the Air Board the Minister shall have regard to the following principles:—

(a)The Chief of the Air Staff to be the senior Air Member of the Air Board, and to be responsible for the administration of business of the Air Board relating to the organization, fighting efficiency, collective training, and works services of the Air Force;

(b)The Air Member for Personnel to be responsible for the administration of business relating to the personnel, discipline and individual training of the Air Force;

(c) The Air Member for Engineering and Maintenance to be responsible for the administration of business relating to the specification, development and maintenance, of all air-force technical stores and equipment, including armament and signals equipment and explosives, and the inspection of all Air Force stores and equipment;

(d)The Air Member for Supply and Equipment to be responsible for the administration of business relating to the provision of all approved technical and warlike equipment for the Air Force, the specification, provision and maintenance of all non-technical stores and the transportation and supplies services of the Air Force;

(e) The Finance Member to be responsible for the control of the expenditure of Air Force votes, and for business relating to accounting, pay, compensation, compilation of parliamentary estimates, review of proposals for new expenditure, and for the redistribution of funds allotted under different subjects of Air Force votes.”.
