REGULATIONS UNDER THE AIR FORCE ACT 1923-1956.*

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Air Force Act 1923-1956.

AMENDMENTS OF THE AIR FORCE REGULATIONS. 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the thirteenth day of July, 1961.

Parts.

2. Regulation 2 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by inserting after the words and figures—

“Division 2.—Pay—Regulations 543-552A.”

the words and figures—

“Division 2A.—Variations of Pay—Regulation 552B.”.

Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of the Air Staff and Air Vice-Marshal— rates of pay.

3. Regulation 544 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “Four thousand seven hundred and seventy-seven pounds” and inserting in their stead the words “Four thousand eight hundred and eight pounds”.

4. After Division 2 of Part XI. of the Air Force Regulations the following Division is inserted:—

Division 2A.—Variations of Pay.

Variations of active pay

“552B. The rate of active pay payable under Division 2 of this Part to a member shall be increased by whichever of the rates specified in the table in this regulation is applicable in relation to the member.

Marriage allowance.

5. Regulation 555 of the Air Force Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words “Eight shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Eight shillings and threepence”;

(b)by omitting from paragraphs (b) and (d)of sub-regulation (3.) the words “Thirteen shillings and six pence” and inserting in their stead the words “Fourteen shillings”;

(c) by omitting from paragraph (e) of sub-regulation (3.) the words “Eight shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Eight shillings and threepence”;

(d)by omitting from paragraphs (b) and (d)of sub-regulation (5.) the words “Thirteen shillings and six pence” and inserting in their stead the words “Fourteen shillings”; and

(e) by omitting from paragraph (e) of sub-regulation (5.) the words “Eight shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Eight shillings and threepence”.

Conditions to be complied with before marriage allowance is payable.

6. Regulation 555A of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (a)of sub-regulation (2.) the words “One pound eight shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “One pound nine shillings and threepence”.

Living out allowance— single members.

7. Regulation 567 of the Air Force Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a)of sub-regulation (1.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”; and

 

 (b) by omitting from paragraph (b)of sub-regulation (1.) the words “Fifteen shillings” and “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Fifteen shillings and threepence” and “Nine shillings and ninepence”, respectively.

Ration allowance.

8. Regulation 569 of the Air Force Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (d)of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”; and

(b)by omitting from paragraph (e) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Fifteen shillings” and “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Fifteen shillings and threepence” and “Nine shillings and ninepence”, respectively.

Retention of lodgings allowance.

9. Regulation 571A of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”.

Rates of travelling allowance.

10. Regulation 578 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (b)of sub-regulation (3.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”.

Reduction of rate where subsistence or quarters is provided.

11. Regulation 590 of the Air Force Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words “Nine shillings and sixpence” and inserting in their stead the words “Nine shillings and ninepence”.
