AN ACT to amend the Agriculture Protection

Board Act, 1950.

[Assented to 27th November, 1951.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title. 1.

This Act may be cited as the Agriculture Pro- tection Board Act Amendment Act, 1951, and shall be read as one with the Agriculture Protection Board Act, 1950 (Act No. 76 of 1950), in this Act referred to as the principal Act.

s. 5 amended. 3. Section five of the principal Act is amended

by

(a)	adding before the word "The" in line one of subsection (3) the letter "a" in brackets, thus "(a)";
(b)	substituting for the word "Inspector" in line one of subsection (3), the words "Vermin Control Officer";
(c)	substituting for the words "the officer in charge of the administration of noxious weeds control" in lines four and five of subsection (3), the words "the Chief Weed Control Officer appointed";

(d)	adding after the word "shall" in line ten of subsection (3), the words "be Acting Deputy Chairman and shall";
(e)	adding to subsection (3) the following paragraph:

(b) The Minister may appoint a person to act in the capacity of Chairman, where the Chairman, Deputy Chair- man, and Acting Deputy Chairman are all absent at the same time;

(f)	deleting the word "nominee" in line two of paragraph (a) of subsection (8);
(g)	substituting for the words "deputy to" in line three of paragraph (a) of subsection (8), the words "the deputy of";
(h)	substituting for the words "as a deputy" in line one of paragraph (b), of subsection (8), the words "to be the deputy of a member";

(i)    adding after the word "absence" in line three of paragraph (b) of subsection (8), the words "except that the deputy of the Chief Vermin Control Officer, or of the Chief Weed Control Officer, or of the Gov- ernment Entomologist shall exercise those powers in the capacity of a member only but shall not act in the capacity of Chair- man, Deputy Chairman or Acting Deputy Chairman unless appointed pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (b) of subsec- tion (3) of this section to do so."

4. Paragraph (d) of section eight of the principal a 8 amended

Act is amended by

(a)	adding after the word "trapping" in line one, the words "or catching by any other means";
(b)	adding after the word "rabbits" in line two, the words. "for consumption or commercial use on any location or reserve where rabbit destruction experiments are in progress, excepting for the purposes of or in con- nection with such experiments";
(c)	deleting all words commencing with the word "on" in line two and finishing with the word "do" at the end of the paragraph.
