AN ACT to further amend the Agricultural
Bank Act, 1906.

1. This Act may be cited as the Agricultural Bank Act Amend- short title.

2. Subsection two of section ten of the principal Act is Amendment of

(a.) Ring-barking, clearing, fencing. draining, or
water conservation; or
(b.) Discharging any mortgage already existing on
any holding; or -
(c • .) The purchase of stock for breeding purposes; or (d.) The purchase of agricultural machinery manu-
factured in Western Australia.
Provided that subject to regulations made under this Act such machinery shall be deemed to have been manufactured in Western Australia, notwith- standing that certain parts thereof were imported.
Provided also that employees engaged in the manufacture of such machinery are paid the ruling rate of wages.
| (2.) | Every application for an advance shall be made |
in the prescribed form, and shall contain such particulars as
may be prescribed.
| (3.) | Advances for the purposes specified in paragraph |
(a) of subsection one may be made of an amount not ex-
ceeding four hundred pounds to the full value of the im-
provements proposed to be made.
| (4.) | Further advances for the purposes specified in |
paragraph (a) of subsection one may be made of an amount not exceeding two hundred and fifty pounds to one-half the value of additional improvements proposed to be made.
| (5.) | No advance shall be made under paragraph (b.) |
of subsection one to an amount exceeding three-fourths the
value of the improvements already made on the holding.
| (6.) | Advances may be made for the purposes specified |
in paragraphs (c) and (d) of subsection one respectively, to
an amount not exceeding one hundre i pounds.
Provided that at no time shall the advances to any one person exceed the sum of seven hundred and fifty pounds.
Provided also that where any land is held by two or more persons as joint proprietors, the amount to be advanced under the provisions of this section may, in the discretion of the trustees, be multiplied by the number of such joint pro- prietors.
| Deputy Managing | 5. The Governor may appoint any officer as Deputy Managing Trustee, and such officer shall have all the powers and may perform all the duties of the Managing Trustee. |
