Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Control of Use) Order 2001

I make the following order under sections 20(2)(a) and 27(1) of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Control of Use) Act 1995 .21 February 2001

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals (Control of Use) Order 2001 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationIn this order, the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if the order were by-laws. 4Handling veterinary chemical productsA chemical product that is a veterinary chemical product must be handled in accordance with the Code of Practice for the Supply and Use of Veterinary Chemical Products published by the Council. 5Controlling ground agricultural spraying (1)  Any ground agricultural spraying of agricultural chemical products must be carried out in accordance with the Code of Practice for Ground Spraying published by the Council. (2)  The specified climatic or seasonal conditions are any climatic or seasonal conditions. (3)  The area specified to be the chemical control area is the whole of Tasmania.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order –

(a) regulates the handling of veterinary chemical products by providing that the handling is to be carried out in accordance with the Code of Practice for the Supply and Use of Veterinary Chemical Products; and (b) controls ground agricultural spraying of agricultural chemical products by providing that the spraying is to be carried out in accordance with – (i) the Code of Practice for Ground Spraying and; (ii) certain specified circumstances.
