Determination under section 52-1 for flexible care subsidy in respect of Extended Aged Care at Home
I, JULIE BISHOP, Minister for Ageing, acting under section 52-1(1)(b) of the Aged Care Act 1997 (the Act) REVOKE, section 1 of the Determination ACA Ch.3 17/2004 made on 23 June 2004 in respect of flexible care provided as extended aged care at home and DETERMINE, that the amounts of FLEXIBLE CARE SUBSIDY in respect of flexible care provided as extended aged care at home payable from 1 July 2005 in respect of a day are the amounts worked out in accordance with the method set out below.
In respect of flexible care provided as extended aged care at home –
By the method of finding the amount produced as follows:
As if the flexible care were residential care (not being respite care), provided at the same location to the care recipient in a residential care service for which residential care subsidy was payable in respect of that day –
a) Identify basic subsidy amount that would be payable for that day were the care recipient classified at classification level RCS 2;
b) Add the amount equivalent to the amount of the oxygen supplement that would be payable under subsection 44-13(1) of the Act if the care recipient was receiving residential care;
c) Add the amount equivalent to the amount of the enteral feeding supplement that would be payable under subsection 44-14(1) of the Act if the care recipient was receiving residential care.
