All Act to amend an Act inti tuled " An Act to " provide for the establishment and endowment " of Colleges within the University of Sydney.'" [25th August, 1858.]

reign of Her present Majesty intituled "An Act to provide for the WHEREAS an Act was passed by the Governor and Legislative Council of New South "Wales in the eighteenth year of the
" establishment and endowment of Colleges within the University of " Sydney" And whereas by the said Act it is amongst other things enacted that no honor or degree shall be conferred by the University on any student who shall not produce from the Principal of his College or (if not belonging to a College) from some religious teacher or other responsible person accredited by the University a certificate that he is of competent religious attainments And whereas the above recited enactment and the resolution or by-law whereon the same was founded are repugnant to the provision in the twentieth section of the Act passed in the fourteenth year of Her Majesty for the establishment and endowment of the said University that no Religious Test shall be administered to any student in the University and it is expedient therefore that the said first recited enactment shall be repealed Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :—
