ADVANCES TO SETTLERS
(GOVERNMENT GUARANTEE)
AMENDMENT ACT.
Act No. 36, 1934.
An Act to extend the operation of the Advances to Settlers (Government Guarantee) Act, 1929 ; to amend that Act in certain respects; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 14th November, 1934.]

| the same, as follows :— | |
| 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Advances to Settlers (Government Guarantee) Amendment Act, 1934," and shall be read and construed with the Advances to Settlers (Government Guarantee) Act, 1929, in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. | |
| (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Advances to Settlers (Government (Guarantee) Act, 1929-1934. |
The expression " se t t l e r " also includes in any case the executor or administrator of a deceased settler. (b)
2. The Principal Act is amended as follows:—
(a)
by inserting at the end of subsection three of section two the following paragraph :—
| (b) | by inserting at the end of section thirty-two the following new subsection:— |
(2) Proceedings in respect of an offence aga ins t this Act or the regula t ions may be taken a t any t ime within one year after the commission of the offence.
| (c) | by inserting at the end of section thirty-seven the following words:—- |

give a guarantee in respect of a settler who has acquired by t r ans fe r or other wise the land held or occupied by a set t ler in respect of whom a guaran tee has been given, subject to the discharge of the liabili ty of the board under such las t
mentioned g u a r a n t e e ; (b)
guarantee an advance to a settler in re spect of whom a gua ran tee has, p r io r to the commencement of the Advances to Set t lers (Government Guarantee) Amend ment Act, 1934, been given of an addi t ional amount which shall not exceed one-fourth of the total amount so guaran teed pr io r to such commencement.
