An Act to amend the Advances to Settlers Acts.

[22nd December, 1902.]

Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative

authority of the same, as follows :—

1. This Act may be cited as the " Advances to Settlers (Amend­ ment) Act, 1902," and shall be read with the Advances to Settlers Act, 1899, and the Advances to Settlers (Amendment) Act, 1901.

2. Section one of the Advances to Settlers Act, ] 899, is amended

by substituting the word " ten " for the word " five " in that section.
3. Section four of the Advances to Settlers Act, 1899, is

amended by the omission of the words " at a rate not exceeding three

and a half pounds per annum for every one hundred pounds" and

substituting therefor the words " in respect."

4. An advance may be made under section nine of the
Advances to Settlers Act, 1899, to an amount not exceeding one

thousand five hundred pounds; and subsection (d) of that section is

hereby amended accordingly. ' 5.

5. The rate of interest payable in respect of any advance made after the passing of this Act shall he not less than four per centum per annum, and subsection (e) of section nine of the Advances to Settlers Act, 1899, is hereby amended accordingly.
