AN ACT to amend the Adoption of Children Act,

1896-1976.

[Assented to 18th November, 1977.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Adoption of and citation.

Commence-

ment. 2. (1) This Act, except section 3, shall come into

operation on the date it receives the Royal Assent.

(2) Section 3 of this Act shall come into operation on the date on which the Legal Representation of Infants Act, 1977 comes into operation.

Subsection (1) of section 411 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after the word "section", in line eleven, the passage "and to the Legal Representation of Infants Act, 1977".

Section 15 4.

Subsection (5) of section 15 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after the word "country", in line four, the passage ", other than New Zealand,".
