AN ACT to further amend the Adoption of

Children Act, 1896.

[Assented to 17th November, 1916.]

Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, inBE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, byand with the advice and consent of the Legislative

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows :—

1.    This Act may be cited as the Adoption of Children Act Short title.

Amendment Act, 1916, and shall be read as one with the

Adoption of Children Act, 1896, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

2.    Section three of the principal Act is hereby amended Amendment of

by substituting for the words "married woman " in paragraph (3) Section 3.

the words " unmarried woman or a widow," and by substituting

for the words " married man " in paragraph (4) the words

" unmarried man or a widower."

Amendment of

Section 4. 3. Section four of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting after the word " man " in paragraph (3) " or a widower," and by inserting after the word " woman " in paragraph (4) " or a widow."

Manner of showing 4. All copies of the principal Act hereafter printed by

amendment. the Government Printer shall be printed as amended by this

Act, under the superintendence of the Clerk of Parliaments, and a reference to this Act shall be made in the margin.
