Adoption Amendment Regulations 2010

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Adoption Act 1988 .8 November 2010

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Adoption Amendment Regulations 2010 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Adoption Regulations 2006 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 22 amended (Extension of term of approval as prospective adoptive parents) Regulation 22 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by inserting in subregulation (1) "or an extension of his or her approval expires under subregulation (2)" after " regulation 21(1) "; (b) by omitting from subregulation (1) "extension" and substituting "extension, or further extension,"; (c) by inserting the following subregulation after subregulation (2) : (3)  A prospective adoptive parent may make no more than 3 applications for extension under this regulation.
