Commencement Proclamation

under the

Administrative Decisions Tribunal Amendment Act 2008 No 77

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (1) of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Amendment Act 2008, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 January 2009 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act (other than Schedule 2.2) commence.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the following uncommenced provisions of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Amendment Act 2008 (other than Schedule 2.2):

(a)

certain amendments to the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Act 1997 concerning the functions and procedure of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal and in the nature of statute law revision,

(b)

amendments to the Administrative Decisions Tribunal (General) Regulation 2004, Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, Anti-Discrimination Regulation 2004, Building Professionals Act 2005, Explosives Act 2003 and Supreme Court Act 1970,

(c)

a provision that repeals the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Rules (Transitional) Regulation 1998.

Explanatory note

Section 2 (3) of the Act provides for Schedule 2.2 to commence immediately before the repeal of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal Rules (Transitional) Regulation 1998.
