Administrative Arrangements (No. 2) Amendment Order 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 .25 November 2002

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Administrative Arrangements (No. 2) Amendment Order 2002 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationThe Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if this order were by-laws. 4Principal OrderIn this order, the Administrative Arrangements Order (No. 2) 2002 is referred to as the Principal Order. 5Schedule 1 amended (Administration of departments and enactments) Schedule 1 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by omitting "totalizator betting, lotteries and unlawful betting and gaming" from the item relating to the Racing Regulation Act 1952 in the list of Acts specified under the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR RACING, SPORT AND RECREATION" and substituting "TOTE Tasmania and totalizator betting"; (b) by omitting "totalizator betting, lotteries and unlawful betting and gaming" from the item relating to the Racing Regulation Act 1952 in the list of Acts specified under the Department of Treasury and Finance which appears under the heading "TREASURER" and substituting "TOTE Tasmania and totalizator betting"; (c) by omitting "Electricity Industry Safety and Administration (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 1997" and "Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997" from the list of Acts specified under the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, ENERGY AND RESOURCES"; (d) by inserting "Electricity Industry Safety and Administration (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 1997" and "Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997" in correct alphabetical position in the list of Acts specified under the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources which appears under the heading "MINISTER FOR INFRASTRUCTURE".

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order amends the

(a) by transferring the administration of the Electricity Industry Safety and Administration (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 1997 and the Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act 1997 from the Minister for Economic Development, Energy and Resources to the Minister for Infrastructure; and (b) by omitting the references to lotteries and unlawful betting and gaming from the items relating to the Racing Regulation Act 1952 , as these matters have been subsumed under the Gaming Control Act 1993 .
