AN ACT to amend section fourteen of the Adminis-

tration Act, 1903-1950.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Adminis-

(2) In this Act the Administration Act, 1903-1950, Act No. 13 of 1903 as reprinted with amendments to and including Act No. 21 of 1942 incorporated pursuant to the provisions of the Amendments Incorporations Act, 1938, and as further amended by Acts Nos. 39 of 1945, 8 of 1949 and 55 of 1950,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act, as amended by this Act,

may be cited as the Administration Act, 1903-1953.

amended by

(a) adding after subsection (1) the following subsection:

(1A) Notwithstanding anything con- tained in subsection (1) of this section, when after the coming into operation of the Administration Act Amendment Act, 1953, a person dies leaving

(a)	a husband or wife, but no issue, parent, brother, sister, or issue of a brother or sister, the hus- band or wife shall be entitled to the whole of the property of the other, as to which he or she dies intestate;
(b)	a husband or wife and also one or more of the following, namely, a parent, a brother, a sister, or issue of a brother or sister, but leaves no issue, the husband or wife shall be entitled, as to the property of the other as to which he or she dies intestate

(0 where the net value of the does not exceed the sum of five thousand pounds, to the whole of such pro- perty;

property of the deceased (ii) where the net value of such property exceeds the sum of five thousand pounds, to the sum of five thousand pounds absolutely, and also to one-half of the residue. ;

(b) inserting after the word "Act" in line two of paragraph (b) of subsection (4) the words "but before the coming into operation of the Administration Act Amendment Act, 1953";

(c) adding after paragraph (b) of subsection

(4) the following paragraph:

(c) after the coming into operation of the Administration Act Amendment Act, 1953, the sum of two thousand five hundred pounds.
