AN ACT to amend the Administration Act, 1903-1945.

[Assented to 14th September, 1949.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. This Act may be cited as the Administration Act Amendment Act, 1949, and shall be read as one with the Administration Act, 1903-1945 (No. 13 of 1903 as re-

printed with amendments to and including No. 21 of 1942 incorporated pursuant to the provisions of the Amend- ments Incorporation Act, 1938, in Volume II of The Reprinted Acts of the Parliament of Western Australia and further amended by No. 39 of 1945), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Section fourteen of the principal Act is amended

by

(a) substituting for the words "the sum of five hundred pounds" in subsection (1) paragraph (a) lines two and three the words "the speci- fied sum referred to in subsection (4) of this section";

(b) substituting for the words "the sum of five

hundred pounds" appearing in paragraph

(b)

of subsection (1) firstly in line two and

secondly in lines two and three, the words "the

specified sum";

(c) adding the following subsection

(4) In this section "the specified sum" means, where the death of the deceased hus- band or wife occurs

(a)

before the coming into operation of

- the Administration Act Amend-

ment Act, 1949, the sum 'of five

hundred pounds ;

(b)

after the coming into operation of that Act, the sum of one thousand pounds.
