AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Yeoman Aircraft YA-1 Series Aeroplanes

AD/YA-1/3 Wing Rear Spars - Modification 8/2022

Applicability:

All models of Yeoman Aircraft YA-1 series aircraft.

Requirement:

Modify the port and starboard wing rear spars at the inner flap hinge bracket attachment, in accordance with Yeoman Aircraft Drawing YA-1/156, as in force on the commencement date of this AD, or a design of a modification of the port and starboard wing rear spars approved under Part 21 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR), as in force from time to time.

Compliance:

Within 90 days after the commencement date of this AD, unless previously accomplished.

This AD commences on 29 April 2022.

Background:

This AD is being re-made under Part 39 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 because an example of the aircraft type, for which Australia is the State of Design, has returned to the Australian aircraft register and the AD had previously lapsed due to the Legislation Act 2003.
