AD/YA-1/1 Main Landing Gear Top Attachment Bolts Replacement (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001 (1) of CASR. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct an unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Yeoman Aircraft YA-1 Series Aeroplanes

AD/YA-1/1 Main Landing Gear Top
Attachment Bolts - Replacement 8/2022

Applicability:

All models of Yeoman Aircraft YA-1 series aircraft.

Requirement:

Replace the original main landing gear top attachment bolts.

Compliance:

1.    Aircraft not modified in accordance with Yeoman Aircraft Service Bulletin (SB) YA1-SB002 dated 25 February 1963, as in force on the commencement date of this AD:

Within 90 days after the commencement date of this AD, unless previously accomplished, and then at intervals not exceeding 100 hours’ time in service.

2.    Aircraft modified in accordance with Yeoman Aircraft SB YA1-SB002, dated 25 February 1963, as in force on the commencement date of this AD:

Within 90 days after the commencement date of this AD, unless previously accomplished, and then at intervals not exceeding 750 hours’ time in service.

This AD commences on 29 April 2022.

Background:

This AD is being re-made under Part 39 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR) because an example of the aircraft type, for which Australia is the State of Design, has returned to the Australian aircraft register and the AD had previously lapsed due to the Legislation Act 2003.
