Aerospatiale (Socata) TBM 700 Series Aeroplanes
| AD/TBM 700/41 Amdt 1 | Pilot Door Locking Fittings | 13/2007 |
Applicability: | Model TBM 700 aircraft, B and C variants, with serial numbers 126 through 322, and equipped with a pilot door. |
Requirement: | 1. Accomplish a detailed inspection of the door locking stops in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of EADS SOCATA Service Bulletin (SB) If a faulty stop fitting is detected, before further flight, replace the fitting with a new stop fitting. 2. If the replacement of a faulty stop fitting was accomplished in accordance with the Requirement 1 inspection, apply the procedure for replacement of the stop fitting in accordance with SB TBM 700 No. 70-131 Revision 1, dated June 2007, or later DGAC/EASA approved revision. Note: DGAC AD F-2007-016 refers. |
Compliance: | 1. Within 10 flight hours after 5 August 2005. 2. Within 12 months after 20 December 2007. The compliance time for Requirement 1 remains unchanged by this issue of the Directive. |
| This Amendment becomes effective on 20 December 2007. | |
Background: | The manufacturer has determined that non-adherence to the pilot door adjustment procedure could damage the stop fittings and possibly result in depressurisation of the aircraft. |
| Amendment 1 is issued in response to a new DGAC AD and a revision of the Requirement document, which adds an operation in the stop fitting replacement procedure. |
