AD/TBM 700/39 Elevator Trim Actuator (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Aerospatiale (Socata) TBM 700 Series Aeroplanes

AD/TBM 700/39 Elevator Trim Actuator 4/2005

Applicability:

EADS SOCATA TBM 700 Aeroplanes from serial number 1 to 304.

Requirement:

Carry out greasing of the elevator trim actuator in accordance with EADS SOCATA Service Bulletin TBM 700 No SB 70-124 dated November 2004.

Note:  DGAC AD F-2004-190 approved under EASA reference No 2004-12116 dated December 13, 2004 refers.

Compliance:

At the next scheduled inspection or before 14 May 2005, whichever occurs first.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 14 April 2005.

Background:

An unsatisfactory initial elevator trim actuator greasing may lead to icing of the elevator trim.
