Aerospatiale (Socata) TB9 and TB10 (Tobago) Series Aeroplanes

AD/TB10/1 Amdt 4 Airworthiness Limitations 8/2006

Applicability:

All model TB9 and TB10 aircraft with serial numbers specified in TB9 Maintenance Manual Revision 4 and TB10 Maintenance Manual Revision 4, both dated April 1995 and DGAC approved 11 June 1996, and later approved revisions of these manuals.

Requirement:

1.    Attachment of Main Gear.  Check for presence of washer and inspect associated wing rib in accordance with TB9 Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-50-05(BA) section 3.B: Attachment of main gear and TB10 Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-50-05(CA) section 3.B: Attachment of main gear.

2.    Wing/Fuselage Passage Duct.  Perform a detailed visual inspection of the ends of the wing/fuselage passage ducts, paying particular attention to the areas indicated in TB9 Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-50-05(BA) section 3.C Wing/fuselage passage duct and TB10 Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-50-05(CA) section 3.C: Wing/fuselage passage duct.

3.    Limited Service Life Parts.  Retire TB9 parts in accordance with TB9 Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-50-05 (BA) section 3.G: Parts with limited service life and TB10 Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-50-05 (CA) section 3.G: Parts with limited service life.

Compliance:

1.    Inspect before 2000 hours in service or before 50 hours time in service after
15 September 1994, whichever occurs last.

2.    Inspect before 2000 hours in service or before 50 hours time in service after
15 September 1994, whichever occurs last.  Thereafter inspect at intervals not exceeding 2000 hours in service.

3.    As specified.

This Amendment becomes effective on 3 August 2006.

Background:

Amendment 1 changed some retirement lives, introduced some inspections and mandated certain modifications, indicated by the results of the TB10 wing fatigue test.  Service letter 14/1 referred to in Amendment 1 of this AD has been cancelled by Service Letter 14/2.

Amendment 2 reflects the inclusion of Service Letter 14/1 in the TB Range Maintenance Manual.

Amendment 3 removes the inspection and modification of the wing forward attachment, which is now subject to AD/TB10/27.

Amendment 4 deletes references to a superseded range Maintenance Manual and adds references to the correct Maintenance Manuals for the TB9 and TB10 aircraft models
