AlliedSignal (Lycoming) Turbine Engines - T53 Series

AD/T53/4 Engine Oil Pump Drive Gear Spline - Inspection 8/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 30 July 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was originally raised prior to 1973 and again in 1986 (with no changes) for all model T5311A engines S/No LEO8149 to LEO8293 not incorporating Overhaul Modification Bulletin (OMB) No. 0028: Field Service Bulletin (FSB) No. 0010 or Lycoming Service Bulletin (SB) SB No. 41.  Requirement was for an inspection of engine oil pump drive gear spline against Lycoming SB No.040, Lycoming FSB No. 0013, Lycoming OMB No. 0027 and AD/LYC-T/4B.

Compliance was in accordance with the requirement documents which were at first scheduled 500 hour inspection, or within 50 hours of operation for engines exceeding 500 hours of operation.  Reinspect at 100 hour intervals until Avco Lycoming SB
No. 41 is incorporated.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected engines to have been inspected and modified by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
