AD/T53/16 Power Turbine Clamping Plate Inspection Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/T53/16.
AlliedSignal (Lycoming) Turbine Engines - T53 Series
| AD/T53/16 | Power Turbine Clamping Plate - Inspection | 8/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 30 July 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD was originally raised in1977 and again in 1986 (with no changes) against Lycoming Service Bulletin (SB) No.0041 and AD/LYC-T/16 requiring an inspection to identify and replace power turbine clamping plates having metallurgical properties which did not conform to specification. Compliance was as per paragraph 1Da and 1Db of Lycoming SB 0041; which was: To be accomplished on affected installed engines prior to the accumulation of 50 operating hours since new or last overhaul and spare engines and components prior to installation. This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected engines to have been modified by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required. |
