AD/SWSA226/11 Rudder Inspection Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/SWSA226/11.

AD/SWSA226/11 Rudder - Inspection 6/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 4 June 2009.

Background:

This AD, raised in 1973 against Swearingen Service Bulletin (SB) 27-20-3032, required an inspection of the rudder trailing edge skin in the vicinity above the centre hinge attachment area for cracks.  Compliance was required at intervals not to exceed 100 hours of operation until repair instructions in the bulletin were complied with.

As manufacturers maintenance data and CASA regulatory maintenance requirements adequately address this requirement, and the appropriate inspection and repairs would have been carried out by now; this AD is no longer required.
