AD/SM-260/17 Aileron Balance Weight Security Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/SM-260/17.

AD/SM-260/17 Aileron Balance Weight Security 8/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 30 July 2009.

Background:

This AD, raised in 1987 against SIAI Marchetti Service Bulletin (SB) SB No.
260-B52, required inspections and a modification to prevent loss or loosening of screws affecting the security of aileron balance weights.  Compliance was required within 10 hours TIS after 23 September 1987, and thereafter every 50 hours TIS.

As all affected aircraft would have been modified long ago, this AD is no longer required.
