AD/SM-205/16 Fuel Quantity Transmitter Scupper Inspection and Modification Cancelled (Cth)

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/SM-205/16.

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 2 July 2009.

Background:

This Australian AD raised in 1972 against SIAI Marchetti Service Bulletin (SB)
SB 205B29 required a inspections for cracks in the area of welding of the fuel level transmitter scupper water drain tube, followed by a modification to ensure any seepage of fuel will not cause fuel fumes in the cabin.  Modification was required within 500 hours TIS after 29 February 1972.

As all affected aircraft would have been modified long ago, this AD is no longer required.
