AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Eurocopter SA 315 (Lama) Series Helicopters

AD/SA 315/9 State of Design Airworthiness Directives 12/2006

Applicability:

EUROCOPTER (AEROSPATIALE) SA 315B helicopters.

Requirement:

1.    Determine the applicability of the DGAC Airworthiness Directives (AD) listed in Table 1.

2.    If it is determined that a DGAC is applicable and has not been previously accomplished, perform the actions required by that AD.

Compliance:

For Requirement 1 - Within 30 days after the effective date of this Directive.

For Requirement 2 - Within 12 months from the effective date of this Directive.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 23 November 2006.

Background:

The DGAC ADs listed in Table 1 of this Directive require one time actions for which the compliance date and/or period has passed.  CASA has determined that these ADs may be applicable to recently registered Australian aircraft.  This Directive is issued to ensure all State of Design ADs are complied with.
