AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/S-76/43.

Sikorsky S-76 Series Helicopters

AD/S-76/43 Tail Rotor Servo Actuator Linkage 7/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 2 July 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD raised in 1986 against Sikorsky Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) 76-67-24 and HR Textron Service Bulletin (SB) 272 required a modification to the tail rotor servo actuator linkage following manufacturer reports indicating possible bolt misalignment on the servo actuator input crank assembly causing fretting of the bolt.

Compliance was:  Inspect within 25 hours TIS after 31 October 1986 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 25 hours TIS until modified.  Modify prior to 31 November 1986.

This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected Helicopters to have been modified by now; therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required.
