AD/Robin/4 Amdt 1 Aileron/Flap Support Brackets (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/ROBIN/4 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | Model R2100, R2100A, R2112, R2120U, R2160, R2160D, and R2160i aircraft, serial numbers 001 through 378. |
Requirement: | Inspect in accordance with Avions Pierre Robin Service Bulletin (SB) No. 90. If cracking is detected, before further flight, incorporate the modification in accordance with SB No. 90. Note: NZ CAA AD DCA/R2000/13 and DGAC AD F-1982-070 refer. |
Compliance: | Unless the initial inspection is already accomplished, within 50 hours time in service after 17 January 2008, and thereafter at intervals not to exceed 50 hours time in service; until modified in accordance with SB No. 90. |

Background: | The manufacturer reported cracking adjacent to the attachment points of the left and right aileron/flap common support brackets and corresponding wing skin areas. Amendment 1 is issued to align this Directive with the related NZ CAA Directive which was issued as a result of Alpha Aviation becoming the Type Certificate holder for Model HR 200 and Model R 2000 series aircraft. |
