AD/RB211/46 State of Design Airworthiness Directives 1 (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: | RB211-524B2, C2, D4, G2, H and H-36 engines installed in Boeing 747 and 767 as specified in the requirement documents. | ||||||||||||||||
Requirement: | 1. Determine the applicability of the Rolls-Royce Service Bulletins listed in 2. If it is determined that a Service Bulletin listed in Table 1 is applicable and has not been previously accomplished, perform the actions required by that Service Bulletin at the nominated date or later approved version. Background: | CASA has reviewed state-of-design ADs applicable to RB211 engines and decided these UK ADs should be explicitly mandated for Australian aircraft. They require once-only actions for which the compliance date and/or period has passed. |
