AD/RAD/53 Australian Domestic Distance Measuring Equipment Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/RAD/53.
Radio Communication and Navigation Equipment
| AD/RAD/53 | Australian Domestic Distance Measuring Equipment | 4/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD was raised in 1995 against requiring removal or disablement of all Australian Domestic Distance Measuring Equipment (DME-A) from aircraft due DME-A operated on the 200 MHz band that would not be available for use by aeronautical navigation services after 31 December 1995, and DME-A ground beacons would not provide a reliable service after 7 December 1995 and would be progressively decommissioned. Compliance was prior to 1 January 1996. This AD has been sufficiently promulgated for the affected DME-A systems to have been removed or disabled, therefore this AD is considered to be no longer required. |
