AD/RAD/28 Garrett Rescue 88A Crash Locator Beacon Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/RAD/28.
Radio Communication and Navigation Equipment
| AD/RAD/28 | Garrett Rescue 88A Crash Locator Beacon | 4/2009 |
Requirement: | CANCELLED. |
| This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009. | |
Background: | This unique Australian AD was raised in1976 requiring a modification to Garrett Rescue 88A Crash Locator Beacon (CLB) by disconnection, insulation and tie back of the remote control plug from the beacon and installing a protective cap over the beacon socket to prevent possible deactivation of the CLB after initial activation by shorting of remote control wiring. Compliance was within 10 hours TIS after 14 January 1976. Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, and that affected CLB’s would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required. |
