AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/RAD/13 Amdt 1.

Radio Communication and Navigation Equipment

AD/RAD/13 Amdt 1 VHF Transceiver Circuit
Protection - Modification
4/2009

Requirement:

CANCELLED.

This AD is cancelled on 9 April 2009.

Background:

This unique Australian AD was raised in1965 requiring a modification to the interwiring or equipment of Rexair VTR-5 series VHF Transceivers to provide adequate circuit protection for all wiring between the control unit and the transceiver.

Note that compliance could be met by incorporating Rex Aviation Design Change No. 7 providing a 5 Amp fuse in the control unit.

Compliance was before 1 March 1966.

Given the extended period this AD has been promulgated, and that affected VHF Transceivers would have been modified by now, this AD is considered to be no longer required.
