AD/PMC/18 Amdt 1 Propeller Hub Modification or Replacement Cancelled (Cth)
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/PMC/18 Amdt 1.

Background: | This unique Australian AD was raised in1971 requiring a modification or replacement of propeller hubs of propeller models 2D34C8 and 2D34C8-A, -J and -K; 2D34C53 and 2D34C53-A, B2D34C53-J and -K; 2D34CT69 and B2D34CT69-J and -K in accordance with McCauley Service Bulletin (SB) No.88. The modification required shot peening of the propeller blade retention threads. Compliance was: For propellers that have completed 600 or more hours total time in service - within 100 hours time in service. For propellers that have completed less than 600 hours total time in service - before achieving 700 hours time in service. As AD/PMC/20 was cancelled due AD requirement document McCauley Service Bulletin (SB) No.88 formed part of the inspection requirements of McCauley Propeller Systems Standard Practices Manual SPM 101-1, this AD is considered to be no longer required for the same reason. |
